The Third World Transition Program (TWTP) is more than a pre-orientation – it’s an opportunity to begin your journey at Brown grounded in community, reflection, and resistance.

During TWTP, you’ll participate in a range of experiences designed to help you connect with your peers, explore your identities, and begin building your Brown community.

Key moments include:

  • Multiethnic Dinner
  • Keynote Presentation
  • Faculty Panel
  • Open Mic Night
  • Resistance Tour
  • Field Day

You’ll also meet your Minority Peer Counselor (MPC) and begin forming your community before general Orientation starts.

There is no registration fee to attend TWTP. The program provides:

  • Early move-in to your assigned residence hall
  • All meals during the program, provided through Brown Dining
  • Seamless transition to general Orientation, with your meal plan beginning on Day 1 of Orientation

We are committed to making TWTP accessible and inclusive for participants with a range of abilities. Available accommodations include:

  • ASL interpretation
  • Wheelchair-accessible spaces
  • Large-print versions of program materials
