MPC Peer Counselor Program

The MPC Peer Counselor program raises awareness of the many barriers that continue to challenge students' ability to thrive in a diverse environment. MPCs address the needs and concerns of communities of color, especially those who did not attend Third World Transition Program.

The MPC Peer Counselor Program is a year-long extension of our pre-orientation program for all first-year students about matters related to the student of color experience also known as the Third World Transition Program (TWTP). MPCs guide first-year students in a year-long exploration of barriers to equity and inclusion, and ways to address, reduce, and navigate those barriers to build a more intentional and inclusive community for themselves, and their peers. Students will also have the ongoing opportunity to be introduced to and build relationships with key resources and staff that will support their academic and personal success. MPCs also expose members of the incoming class to valuable campus resources.
