BCSC Professional Team

The BCSC professional team works in partnership with students and colleagues across campus to support belonging and community/inclusion. Through advising, advocacy, and community-centered programs, we help students thrive at Brown.

BCSC Student Staff Team

The BCSC is supported by a dynamic team of student staff who help bring the Center’s mission to life through peer mentorship, storytelling, design, event support, and advocacy. These positions reflect the Center’s values of belonging and community, and offer students meaningful opportunities to lead, grow, and contribute.

We welcome all students from all backgrounds and experience levels. Training is provided for all roles.

BCSC Support Team

The BCSC Support Team comprises talented student staff who assist with communications, operations, and media coverage. Whether capturing a powerful moment, designing an event flyer, or supporting the day-to-day flow of the office, these students play a key role in how the BCSC connects with the campus community.

MPC Peer Counselors

MPC Peer Counselors are student staff members who live and work in first-year residence halls, serving as mentors and community builders. MPCs help foster personal growth, social responsibility, and connection through one-on-one relationships and group engagement.

MPCs receive training in active listening, conflict resolution, crisis response, and inclusive community-building.

For many new students, MPCs are a vital source of guidance, support, and affirmation. Through day-to-day interactions and intentional programming, they help make Brown a more inclusive and connected place to live and learn.

MPC Peer Counselor Coordinators

MPC Peer Coordinators (MPCCs) are experienced student staff within the MPC program. They work closely with the Assistant Director for First-Year and Sophomore Programs to support the development of MPC Counselors and strengthen the program's impact across campus.

As returning members of the MPC team, MPCCs offer guidance, structure, and mentorship to current MPCs, helping to build a strong and supportive community. They model ethical leadership, encourage collaboration, and help ensure the program reflects the values of community, inclusion, accountability, and care.

TWTP Team

The TWTP team organizes and facilitates the Third World Transition Program, one of the BCSC’s signature pre-orientation experiences. TWTP introduces incoming students to community, dialogue, and critical reflection before the academic year begins.

Student Advisory Board

The Student Advisory Board (SAB) helps the Director develop the vision and strategic plan for the BCSC. It is critical that student input be considered in planning the BCSC’s future.
